Norm Pratt

It's not a simple thing to describe exactly what Norm's music sounds like. Drawing on a diverse musical background you can hear remnants of familiar voices, yet the originality of Norm's music stands alone. One element that you can distinguish clearly is Norm's music come from the heart.

Born in Michigan, yet raised in the deserts of Arizona, Norm's musical journey has led him to many places, both figuratively and musically. Originally playing as a solo artist he became a fixture on the vibrant Tempe/Phoenix music scene of the late 70's. The muse then led him to Colorado where he performed in a duo with longtime friend Harry Ingerick. Returning to Tempe, Norm formed Taos, a band that was heralded by the Arizona Songwriters Association, and one in which Norm received the Songwriter of the Year Award.

The muse once again led him to Boulder, Seattle, and then finally back home to the desert. Along the way he continued to perform as a solo artist as well as fronting bands, all the while continuing to work on crafting his music.

In 2002, Norm and longtime compadre Mark Naylor, started Perfect Circle Records, a label whose mission is to spotlight the wealth of songwriting talent in Arizona. Norm also continues to record and produce singer/songwriters in his studio, The Adobe, located in Cave Creek.

For over 15 years Norm performed with Tucson and Phoenix musical legend, Bob Meighan, who was inducted into the Arizona Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame in 2019. These days you can catch Norm playing solo or with longtime friends, Jon Rauhouse on pedal steel guitar and Carolyn Camp on fiddle and vocals.
